Overall, I’m really pleased with RuneScape, the c's and our community – we’ve got lots to celebrate. It’s been an amazing year becoming a RuneScape player - probably our best yet - and that i don’t just mean when it comes to game content. Town feels stronger and more vibrant than I am able to recall in the past seven years.

You'll find almost way too many things to mention, therefore i’m just going to share our top highlights of the season:

The primary was the vote and launch of Old School RuneScape. The community’s passion for bringing back nostalgic retro servers have been growing in intensity, so we searched our archives and - thankfully - was able to find a single dusty backup from the game code from August 2007.

Only needed to pick the newest significant event for me personally, it could be the successful introduction of Bonds. Though we’d made excellent progress inside the battle against bots, sadly demand remained for gold farming and real-world trading services. The roll-out of Bonds empowered players for being direct beneficiaries by meeting this demand themselves, and - as being a direct consequence - Bonds has a crushing impact on gold farming. I’m glad to see the game economy has recovery significantly ever since then.

Except for me, strangely I prefer best about Bonds is that most of RuneScape’s paid premium service like membership could certainly be earned by anyone through their in-game efforts. Even free players can access the entire game – just as one original pioneer in free-to-play games, RuneScape is here full circle, now Bonds allows anyone a chance to play everything entirely totally free. I had been also touched to discover how many friends and clans used - and continue to use - Bonds to assist their friends out.
